To most of us Mother's Day meant much more when we were kids, for the sheer joy with which we used to pack little gifts for our mothers in colorful bows and ribbons and were delighted to see a smile on her face as she unpacked those little gifts. As we grew up, and moved on in life, the relevance of doing little things to make our mothers smile was lost in the humdrum of life. So, this Mother’s Day, give her a gift that will bring back that smile and the feeling associated with it - that she is the most special person in your life.

Every woman, including your mother, loves to be pampered. Give her a gift that she would like to possess as a woman, rather than as a mother. There is nothing wrong with gifting kitchen appliances or cleaning gadgets but your mother deserves something more than that. After all, don’t describe your mother by just thinking of her as someone who used to cook for you and keep the house clean. Like any other woman, your mother would be flattered to receive jewelry, perfumes, clothes, watch, cosmetics and flowers. You may even choose a gift basket that has an assortment of perfumes, cosmetics and chocolates for your mother to indulge herself. You could also gift her home décor items or a gift certificate of her favorite home décor store to give her the luxury of choosing a gift of her own choice.

Whatever you give her, the best gift you will be giving her this Mother’s Day is the feeling that you thought of her and made an effort to make her feel really special.
